Reported by Kalen Grant, Campus Beautification Committee Chairman:
Our first LHS campus beautification day was a huge success with over 60 volunteers! Work was completed inside and outside throughout the entire school. Volunteers cleaned windows, doors, light fixtures, walls, and water fountains, as well as undertaking a large job of dusting. Outside the building, a new flower bed was constructed, plants were planted, trees were trimmed, and beds were weeded.
A special thank you goes out to Rusty Beale and the LHS baseball team for their presence and hard work. Thank you to Sheri Dorsett and 6 of her drama students for volunteering. We had 2 county office staff members, LHS administrators, LHS teachers and staff, LHS students, a family representing LEIF, a representative from FCA, Mock Trial students, and even a teacher from another school! It was great to see such a diverse group taking time out of their Saturday morning to prepare our LHS campus for the 2016-2017 school year.
Lowndes High School Beautification Committee would also like to give a huge a shout-out to the following community partners for contributing toward our 1st Campus Beautification Day. Because of their participation, the day was an awesome success!
