LHS Boys' Tennis End Season

posted Apr 25, 2016, 5:53 AM by KRISTAL DAWSON
Coach Phelps reports: The Lowndes Boys' tennis season came to an end Thursday with a tough loss against Etowah in the 2nd Round of the State Tennis Tournament. It was a close match that we lost 2-3. There is a great article in the paper today recapping the excitement from yesterday. Lowndes #1 Davis Stewart came back from a set down to win in a 3rd set Tie-break.  It was an epic match with both players going on to play collegiate tennis next year (Harvard and Georgia Southern). It was one of those high school matches that I will never forget. Our other point came from Liam Wetherington and Brant Chancy at #2 Doubles (both freshmen). The Lowndes' boys finished the season 19-3 with consecutive Region 1-AAAAAA Titles. Once again, thank you for all your support throughout this season. Go Vikings
