From Mock Trial Sponsor, Mike White:
It is with great happiness that I report the results of the weekend Mock Trial competition. Entering the weekend, if you think like an NCAA Basketball Tournament there were 64 teams. By Saturday night at 8 pm there were only the Elite 8. LHS was one of the Elite Eight!

Lowndes, as the #1 seed from Region 1, had the first Round bye. In round two they faced Wayne County and entered the Sweet 16. In the District Championship round, Lowndes defeated defending Champions Lee County by the narrowest of margins to make it to the State Finals in Lawrenceville, GA on March 18-20.

Besides winning the Team championship Our Defense Team set a new record scoring 118 out of a possible 120 points in the championship round.

Kylie Mathis won the best Attorney award in her courtroom both rounds. Shelby Parks won Best Attorney in her courtroom in the Semi-Final round. Sarah Marie Russell won Best Witness in her courtroom in the Semi- Finals. Kalynn Butler won Best Witness in the Championship round in her courtroom. Elizabeth Crosby won the best witness in her courtroom in the Championship round.

The long and winding road continues for now. Thank you for all your support. Please congratulate our Mock Trial students. They have worked very hard this season and will continue to their work as we approach State Finals in Lawrenceville, GA on March 18-20.
