Submitted by Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Dorsey, art teachers:
We have submitted art work by four of our students to the 2016 Congressional Art Competition. One part of the competition is a People's Choice Award. It is selected on Facebook. Search for Rep. Austin Scott’s page and you will see the photo album with all 62 pieces of artwork that were submitted this year. The artwork picture that has the most “likes” by Friday, March 11th at 5pm, will win the Peoples’ Choice Award and the artwork will hang in Congressman Scott’s Washington DC office for one year. I have attached the images of our students' work.

Kristina Galeano- colored pencil drawing of the turtle
Emma Emery-impasto painting of the glass bottle
Sarah Lee-pencil drawing of the girl
Hannah Gandy-pencil drawing of the nail polish

Please go to Facebook and vote for our LHS artists on Congressman Austin Scott's Facebook page!!! We would love to have LHS represented in Congressman Scott's DC office!

Awards Reception and Art Gallery: This year the artwork is being hung in the Colquitt County Arts Center. There will be an awards reception hosted by Congressman Austin Scott to announce this year’s winners this Sunday, March 13 from 2:00-3:30 at the Arts Center - 401 7th Ave SW, Moultrie, GA.
