  • Special Olympics State Fall Game Reported by Ms. McCauley:Special Olympics were a success this year! The teams traveled to Gainesville Ga for the Fall games. We celebrated with Opening Ceremonies where Mary Catherine Stamey, Jose Nava, and Molek Moore carried the Lowndes High School banner in the parade of athletes. The students had a great time at the dance and Olympic town.  Unified softballThe unified softball team won 3rd place with a bronze medal. The team players were: Sarah Brooks, Emma Gregory, Aarin Wright, Mary Catherine Stamey, Georgia Wynn, Joshua Webb, Jaylon Sipp, Tommy Rowell, Emily Gary, Molek Moore, and James Craven. Traditional bocceThe traditional bocce team won 3rd place with a bronze medal.   • LHS Student Cole Tucker Rising Star as Ventriliquist Cole Tucker, a local student at Lowndes County High School, will be making his professional debut on November 14, 2017 at the Mathis Auditorium in Valdosta, Georgia. Cole began his journey to become a ventriloquist at the age of 9 and is opening a new chapter in his career with a family friendly show next month. The show starts at 7 pm and will feature many of his amazing puppet friends in an uplifting show of comedy and music. In an effort to always give back to his community, Cole is teaming up with the Alzheimer's Caregiver Time Out (ACTO) organization in Valdosta for this event.   • Vikette Softball Wins Region Reported by Coach Thomas:We had a hectic 2 days in Camden and I believe a fall break could not come at a better time for all parties involved. But it was successful none the less. The girls went 3-0 and were able to bring back home a region title (2 in a row and 3 total for our Seniors).Westlake out of Atlanta will come down starting tomorrow for the 1st round of the playoffs.   • Shayla Jackson Crowned Miss Georgia High School America         On Sunday, September 17th, 2017, Shayla Jackson of Valdosta was crowned Miss Georgia High School America at the Henry County Performing Arts Center in McDonough, GA.  Shayla will represent the Peach State at the National Miss High School America Pageant to be held June 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Shayla is currently a sophomore at Lowndes High School. She is an Honor roll student, member of the Class Cabinet, Interact Club, HOSA Club, Sign Language Club, National Beta Club and co caption of the Junior Varsity Volleyball team. Shayla is very active within the community.  She holds a Christmas toy drive for the Children’s Advocacy Center along with donating stuffed animals throughout the year, donates school supplies and ...
