I currently serve as an assistant principal at LHS. Education is my passion, and I have always known that I wanted to be involved in educating students and preparing them for the future. As a member of the faculty of Lowndes High School for 23 years, I have been a mathematics teacher, instructional supervisor, Advanced Placement coordinator, and club sponsor before moving in to an administrative position this year. While teaching mathematics, I was named Lowndes High Teacher of the Year in 2005 and 2008, Lowndes County Schools District Teacher of the Year in 2009, and a Finalist for Georgia Teacher of the Year in 2010. I received my B.S. and M.S. in Secondary Education Mathematics as well as my Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University. I am married to Chuck Pearson. Our daughter is a sophomore at Lowndes High and a member of the Georgia Bridgemen. Our son lives in Cairo, GA with his wife and beautiful daughter. In my leisure time, I enjoy reading, spending time with family, shopping, and watching high school and college football.
