Reported by Daisy Daniel:
Each Spring the United States House of Representatives sponsors an art competition for high school students. The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for Members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.

This year, with the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, all of the entries from across the district will be displayed at the Valdosta Mall in Valdosta, GA, for an exhibit lasting from March 30 to April 23.

The following students have artwork on display at the Valdosta Mall:

Jaliyah Brantley
Reece Whiddon
Alyssa Davis
Lauren Burgess
Hannah Gandy
Taylor Gray
Emma Emery
Sarah Karagoz
Sky Starling

Thank you for supporting our LHS artists and be sure to stop by the Spring Art Competition reception this Thursday, April 12 4-6 in the media center!
