Reported by Mrs. Reitz:
Sophomore Rhyonna Dewey represented Lowndes High School at the South Georgia Regional Poetry Out Loud competition this past Saturday in McRae, Georgia. She recited "Tamer and Hawk" by Tom Gunn and "Barter" by Sara Teasdale and did a terrific job against some tough competition, coming directly from Columbus where she had been attending the Georgia Thespian Convention with the LHS Off-Broadway company.

This is Lowndes High School's second year participating in Poetry Out Loud, a national poetry memorization and recitation program sponsored nationally by the National Endowment for the Arts and in Georgia by the Margaret Mitchell House, ArtWorks, and Georgia Council for the Arts.

Special thanks to Sheri Dorsett and LHS Off-Broadway for their amazing support of this program.
