LeAnne McCall was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. She attended public schools K-12 in Cobb County. Mrs. McCall earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University. In 1991, she earned a Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of Georgia. After working for the federal government for several years, Mrs. McCall decided to pursue her calling as an educator and enrolled at the University of West Georgia to obtain her teaching certification.
In 1997, Mrs. McCall began her career in education working at Awtrey Middle School and later at North Cobb High School. Mrs. McCall moved to Valdosta in 2008 to work for the Lowndes County School System. Initially hired as an Assistant Principal at Lowndes High School, Mrs. McCall worked with the Special Education Department and later as the Director of the Freshman Academy. In 2011, Mrs. McCall was named as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Grades 6-12 for the Lowndes County School System. Since July of 2015, Mrs. McCall has served as the Principal of Lowndes High School. Without question, this opportunity has been her most rewarding experience thus far as an educator. Mrs. McCall was named the 2022 Georgia High School Prinicipal of the Year.
Mrs. McCall is married to Rusty McCall of Valdosta, Georgia, and they have one daughter Anna Kate. Anna Kate is a proud alumni of Lowndes High School Class of 2013.
