I am Misty Hughes and this is my 25th year in education, but my first year at Lowndes High School. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Social Science and Mathematics from Valdosta State University in 1997, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Albany State University in 2002 and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University in 2008. Until recently, I have been in Berrien County as a teacher, advisor for numerous clubs, tennis and cheerleading coach, director of various programs, as well as Instructional Coach for Berrien Middle School.
This year I will celebrate 25 years of marriage to my high school sweetheart, Matt. We have two fabulous daughters, Railey and Kenley, who continuously fill our lives with love, pride, and joy. Railey is starting her freshman year at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Ga where she is a Biology major. Kenley is starting her sophomore year of high school and enjoys cheerleading, tennis, golf, and theater.
I am thrilled to be part of the Viking family where the Crimson Creed says it all!
