You are invited to The Viking Cantors' Show Choir performance of our 2024-2025 show, "BIG TIME!" Our show will be Monday, December 16th at 6:30PM with an option to attend our hors d'oeuvres social prior to the show at 5:30PM. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
"Big Time" tells the story of a young lady who aspires to make it to the proverbial 'big time'. Along the way, she encounters some stereotypical requirements that challenge her core values, causing her to question the path she is on. Through a series of 5 songs and energized choreography, we follow the story of this aspiring star who chooses to stay true to herself while still pursuing her dreams!

The end of the semester is coming to a close which means it's crunch time for engineering student projects. One of the most important career-based skills is project and time management, and experience is always the best teacher! These students are using a wide variety of tools, software, machinery, and electronics to prototype their semester-long capstone projects. Every project is original, designed, and built through iteration and testing. This week these students will have the opportunity to showcase their projects to their school community.

This morning Mrs. Hudson and Coach Bell’s Geometry class did a fun hallway review activity before their quiz. Each card they had to determine the true statement about dilations and record why the other statement was false according to the scenario. #OneLowndes #BetterTogether

Congratulations to Gavin Draper for being selected to perform in the GMEA District 8 Jazz Honor Band for the second year in the row!
Every year, high school students around Southeast Georgia audition for a spot in the District Jazz Honor Band. The auditions are judged and the best jazz musicians from our region are selected. Those students will get together at VSU in April, rehearse for two days, and will perform a concert with some great Jazz music! Gavin will be playing piano in this ensemble. #OneLowndes #BetterTogether

Lowndes High School Special Olympic athletes were presented with their hard-earned letterman jackets in a special ceremony yesterday led by their teachers, coaches, and fellow Viking athletes. These students represent LHS with sportsmanship, determination, and Viking pride, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments. Congratulations, athletes! #OneLowndes #BetterTogether

Students in Mrs. Aldridge’s Economics & Personal Finance classes have been learning the importance of borrowing and investing, as well as making well informed financial decisions. Yesterday, each class played Credit Land and learned about what behaviors positively and negatively impact credit scores, as well as how credit scores in turn impact interest rates on everyday loans. #OneLowndes #BetterTogether

Mrs. Yancey’s Drawing 1 class is working hard on their graphite portraits. Students chose someone important or influential to them that they know personally, or they could have chosen to draw themselves. We’re so excited to see the finished pieces! Great things are happening in our art department everyday! #BetterTogether #OneLowndes

🎉 LHS Seniors Take on The Game of Life! 🎉
Last Friday, November 8, Lowndes High School seniors got a taste of real-world adulting through The Game of Life Reality Game!
Students stepped into the shoes of working adults, managing an assigned occupation and salary while making smart financial decisions about housing, transportation, insurance, and more. Chance cards added an exciting twist, offering surprises—good or bad—along the way! 🚗💰🏠
To keep it realistic, students had to obey the law or risk being “pulled over” by our awesome SRO officers. 🚨
A huge THANK YOU to our Economics teachers for organizing this fantastic event, the teachers who gave up their planning periods, the central office staff who volunteered their time, and the many businesses who gave of their time to work a booth.
Thank you all for helping make this day unforgettable for our seniors! 💼👏

Congratulations to DECA! @OneLowndes #BetterTogether

Culinary arts students have been making tortas. Looks like the finished products met approval! @OneLowndes #BetterTogether

Students draw with hot wax which will resist the dye and create a design in white lines. These students painted with fabric dye according to their color schemes to design their beautiful cloths! @onelowndes #BetterTogether
